Title: Evaluating the socio-economic and metabolic health impacts of kush consumption among users in selected districts of sierra leone

Abstract

This presentation will focus on the highlighting the social and economic effects of this drug and how this drug affects the kidneys and the liver. It will list and discuss the key findings of this research and how they help in adding knowledge to the already existing body of knowledge, It will also highlight how these findings can be used in health education and promotion activities as well as policy development in regards to drug.  

What will the audience take away from your presentation?

• The audience will be able to see how community discrimination has been leading to the victims not seeking help.


• The audience will also see the economic burden that comes with being an addict and how this has been leading to their continued social and economic decline.


• This research will help public health experts in planning health promotion and intervention programs to educate users about the adverse effects of drugs.


• It will help policy developers to have an evidence-based policy development strategy.


• It will also help health finance institutions to have a focal point on where to focus their monies that will start yielding positive gains on the fight against drug use and abuse.

This research will serve as a basis for a more improved design to conduct a more robust global finding on drug abuse and misuse.
