Biography

Sabina Mandic is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Behavioural Disorders at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb, Croatia. She earned her PhD in the field of Internet addiction, and her scientific and professional interests focus on behavioural addictions and risky behaviours among children and adolescents, with a particular emphasis on virtual environments. She is a co-author of several scientific and professional papers. She has developed two evidence-based prevention programs addressing behavioural addictions and risky behaviours in virtual settings ("Tools for Modern Times" and "Be Yourself – Online & Offline"). In collaboration with colleagues, she has delivered more than 13 training cycles for the implementation of the Tools for Modern Times program in primary schools across Croatia. In addition to her academic role, she works as an associate at the Cabinet for Behavioural Addictions and Risky Online Behaviours within the Faculty’s Clinical and Teaching Centre. There, she applies her expertise in direct work with young people and their parents through individual sessions and group activities.
