Biography

Dr. Sirry Alang is the Associate Dean for Equity and Justice and is a Professor in the Department of Health and Human Development.  Additionally, she is the Interim Chair of the school’s Department of Teaching, Learning, and Leading and previously served as an Interim Co-Director of the school’s Center for Urban Education.

Dr. Alang earned her Ph.D. in Health Services Research, Policy and Administration from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. She also obtained an M.A. in Sociology from Lehigh University and a B.Sc. in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Buea in Cameroon.

Dr. Alang is a medical sociologist and a health services researcher interested in understanding and eliminating health inequities.
