Biography

Angel Kapila is a Master’s student of Clinical and Health Psychology at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest, Hungary. Their diverse professional background spans clinical settings, research, and international community work. Angel has gained significant hands-on experience in psychiatric hospitals in India, conducting psychometric assessments such as the TAT and Rorschach, and assisting in the treatment of patients with substance use disorders under specialized supervision. A published researcher in the International Journal of Indian Psychology (IJIP), Angel has explored the impact of digital exposure on behavioral outcomes. Their global experience includes working with underprivileged youth in Indian NGOs and serving as a camp Young Youth Facilitator in the USA, fostering resilience in children aged 6–15. Currently, Angel’s work focuses on "The Digital Bridge," an innovative framework integrating AI and trauma-informed care to modernize addiction recovery for a global audience.

  • Technology-Mediated Behavior: Investigating how digital exposure (video games, social media) influences aggressive behavior and emotional regulation in children and adolescents.
  • Digital Phenotyping: Using smartphone and wearable data as "digital biomarkers" to predict relapse and monitor psychiatric symptoms in real-time.
  • AI in Clinical Decision Support: Exploring how machine learning can assist psychiatrists in identifying patterns in patient data that are invisible to the naked eye.

Clinical Assessment & Trauma-Informed Care

  • Projective Measures in the 21st Century: Examining the modern application of traditional psychometric tools like the TAT and Rorschach in diagnosing complex trauma and personality disorders.
  • Trauma-Informed Systems: Designing clinical frameworks that prioritize patient safety, trust, and empowerment, particularly in digital or tele-health environments.
  • Dual-Diagnosis Recovery: Researching integrated treatment models for patients suffering from co-occurring substance use disorders and psychological trauma.
